Joshua Haugen holds a Master of Music in Composition from Michigan State University and dual Bachelor's degrees in Saxophone Performance and Composition from Western Michigan University. He has over 10 years of experience teaching students of all ages and levels, from first-time beginners to college-bound musicians. A state-certified music educator, Joshua has taught in K-12 schools and at the university level through MSU's GATE Summer Institute.

As a composer, Joshua was a finalist for the ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Award, and his works have been performed by leading ensembles including Sō Percussion and the Spektral Quartet. As a performer, he has premiered over 20 new works and specializes in contemporary and experimental music.
