I hold a Master of Music in Composition from Michigan State University and dual Bachelor's degrees in Saxophone Performance and Composition from Western Michigan University. I've been teaching private lessons, directing woodwind sections, and working with students in K-8 and K-12 classrooms since 2017, and I'm a state-certified music educator. At MSU, I also taught Music Technology and Composition at the GATE Summer Institute. My students have earned placements in All-State and honors ensembles, competitive marching programs, and collegiate saxophone and composition studios.

As a composer, I was a finalist for the ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Award, placed 2nd in the MSU Barbara Wagner Composition Competition, and was commissioned by Aerulis Trumpet Quintet through that award. My works have been performed and read by Sō Percussion, the Spektral Quartet, Kestrel Duo, and Splinter Reeds, and selected for the Score Follower Call for Scores on two occasions. As a performer, I've premiered over 20 works, many of them written specifically for me, and I specialize in contemporary and experimental saxophone music, including works employing quartertone systems and extended techniques.
